Water Baptism
Believers baptism to be taken by immersion by persons after they have been born again. This is an external testimony of an internal reality which has taken place
Lord's Table
This is ordained by the Lord Jesus Christ and to be participated in by all baptised believers. It is done in remembrance of the atoning sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ. This will be a main focus during every Sunday gathering
Spiritual gifts
Every believer has been given some spiritual gift and this has to be used for the service and building up of the body of Christ
Speaking in tongues
Speaking in tongues is a spiritual gift. It must be exercised in a gathering only if it is interpreted otherwise they are to remain silent-1 Corinthians 14: 27-28
Speaking in tongues is not an evidence of being baptised by the Holy Spirit.
Tongues are a sign not for believers but for unbelievers - 1 Corinthians 14:22,
Tongues are mentioned in Acts 2:4, Acts 10:46, Acts 19:6 and they refer to the Jews, Gentiles and disciples of John the Baptist getting added into the church. They spoke in other languages unknown to them and testified to the mighty works of God
Forbid not and seek not the speaking in tongues appears to be what the Bible teaches. Hebrews 2:4, 1 Corinthians 14:39
Healing
God heals in response to prayers. James 5:14-15
He is our loving Heavenly Father and cares for our well being including physical health
God's purposes are fulfilled in physical health and in physical sickness.
We can confidently pray for healing for sick persons and then leave it to God to do what is best for that person according to his will.
God works in all situations for his glory and our good whether in physical sickness or in physical health. Romans 8:28
Isaiah 53:5 refers to spiritual healing and not to physical healing. The spiritual sickness which is healed is described in Isaiah 1:5-6
Physical healing is not a promise. We need to acknowledge God's will for our lives
Baptism of the Holy Spirit
Baptism of the Holy Spirit takes place the moment a person believes in the Lord Jesus Christ as his/her saviour and is born again - Ephesians 1:13, Romans 8:9
The instruction to wait in Jerusalem was given by Jesus to his disciples and this was fulfilled at Pentecost- Acts 1: 4,8 and Acts 2: 1-4. This is how the church was first established. Today, we do not need to wait for the baptism of the Holy Spirit as this takes place immediately at the time we are born again.
The Bible
does NOT teach the doctrine of subsequence which states that the baptism of the Holy Spirit takes place at a time subsequent (after) to the event of being born again and that the evidence of this is the speaking in tongues.
