Brief background on house church movement
House churches are
also called organic churches and are in the pattern of the early New Testament
Churches which met in believers homes. They are self governed, self sustaining
and self propagating just like living organisms. They do not seek to become a
centrally controlled organisation. The beliefs for all matters of faith,
worship and conduct are taken from the teachings of the bible. Leadership in
each church is provided by more than one person. Individual house churches
fellowship with one another as part of a network to share resources
particularly in the areas of basic doctrinal alignment and leadership
development

History of house churches in Vadodara
The house
church at Vadodara started in 2011 with a vision of establishing bible
believing churches comprising of people who put their faith in the Lord Jesus
Christ in response to hearing the gospel. It is committed to developing leaders
who can then provide leadership and able to work in teams for each church to
operate as self governing, self sustaining and self propagating entities. The
Network will provide leadership development, alignment on basic doctrines and
any other inputs for spiritual development such as camps, training programmes,
VBS, etc without impacting the autonomy of each church. The Vadodara house
churches network fellowships with similar house churches in Mumbai and other
cities. For the purpose of registration and legal compliances it comes under
the umbrella of ‘The Redeemed Community Trust’

Typical worship pattern
Each
individual house church develops its worship pattern to suit their needs. The
common features of the Sunday worship are:
- Participating at the Lord’s table
- Worship
comprising of songs and prayers
- Message
from God’s word
- Testimony time
- Praying
for prayer needs
- Everyone
is invited to participate
In addition each church
will have other events to take care of their needs such as sunday school,
ladies fellowship, prayer meetings, bible studies
